About Lauren Bus,

Registered Psychotherapist

I work with deep thinkers and big feelers because I am one.

I’ve always been drawn to conversations that go beneath the surface, where emotions, patterns, and relationships start to make sense. My path to becoming a therapist in Lambton County wasn’t linear, but looking back, every step brought me closer to this work. After earning degrees in Communication Studies and Journalism, I spent several years in marketing before realizing what truly mattered to me: meaningful connection, emotional honesty, and the healing that happens in safe, attuned relationships.

My own experience as a therapy client showed me how powerful it can be to be truly seen, messy emotions, uncertainty, and all, and be met with compassion rather than judgment. That experience shaped the way I work today. I see therapy as a relational process, where change happens through understanding yourself more deeply, especially in the context of your relationships, attachment history, and emotional world.

I aim to create a space that feels grounding, collaborative, and emotionally safe. Our work moves at your pace and is guided by curiosity and respect. I draw primarily from Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), attachment theory, parts work, mindfulness, and self-compassion practices. Together, we pay attention to patterns that show up in your relationships, how you learned to protect yourself emotionally, and what your feelings are trying to communicate, both in your life and in the therapy room.

I often work with people who feel like parts of them are too messy, too emotional, or too much to be held, by others or even by themselves. Many people come to therapy naming anxiety, relationship challenges, life transitions, or relationships with food and your body, but underneath, it is often about learning how to understand yourself and feel safer in your own inner world.

A big part of what I do is helping you come home to yourself. That means slowing things down, making sense of your emotional experiences, and building a more compassionate relationship with the parts of you that learned to cope by pushing feelings away or holding everything together on your own.

I am a Registered Psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO). My practice is rooted in compassion, curiosity, and respect for each person’s lived experience. I’m proudly pro-choice, 2SLGBTQIA+ allied, and committed to offering a space that feels inclusive, affirming, and welcoming.

Therapy doesn’t have to be formal or intimidating. It can feel like a deep breath, a place to be yourself, explore patterns, and build more secure, meaningful connections with yourself and others.

If that sounds like what you’re looking for, I’d love to meet you there.
